How To Clutter-Free Your Living Room

Bring the joy into your living room. Follow the steps to organize and declutter your living space. These simple steps will help you maintain the living room you usually dreamed about.

The living room should be calm, unruffled and an open invitation to those you enter into this room. Look around, what items are stored here? What’s the function of this room? Is this a relaxing area? How many activities are taking place in this area? The living room should consist of the following essentials ; TV, comfortable chair, loveseat or chair, occasional table and end tables. If you’re storing more furniture than you want, reconsider the item, can it be stored somewhere else, can it be donated? Follow the steps below to a clutter-free living room.

Step one. Donate and purge mags and books you haven’t read or do not need. If you subscript to a book club or have varied mag subscriptions, ask these questions. Am I reading the material? Can I do without the subscriptions? Is the magazine/book accessible online? When was the last time I really sat down and read a mag or book?

Step 2. Start purging and giving undesired VHS, DVD’s, tapes, and so on. Do invest in a robust unit to provide housing for the items you are keeping. Don’t forget to group and alphabetize them. Have a yard sale or give the movie to your local library. Remember you can always rent a film, you do not have to get each movie you see.

Step3. Organize your coat closet ; hat and gloves on the top shelf, line shoes and boots sharply on the floor. Don’t forget to keep a space for your visitors. Old tray tables can be employed to house your shoes.
